5 Destinations to Celebrate New Year's Eve

The ‘City of Water’ is one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. With its winding streets and picture-perfect canals and scenery, it is arguably at its best during December when it is just a little bit chilly. This destination calls for a long weekend away to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the delicious local cuisine and to visit the tourist spots along the way.

If you’re travelling as a couple, start or end your New Year’s Eve by embracing in a ‘lovers kiss’ in Piazza San Marco, where hundreds if not thousands of couples gather for this local tradition. Offering one of the largest firework display in the world, Madeira is the perfect place to visit if you want a trip full of glitz and glamour. Starting New Year’s celebrations on the 30^th December, many locals and tourists find themselves dancing and partying until the night of the following day!

The dress code for these evenings tend to be formal giving men an excuse to dust off their tuxedos and the ladies to show off their ball gowns.

At midnight, watch the fireworks and then party in to the evening until the early morning in one or all of Berlin’s many clubs.
