1. What’s the limit on the amount of times I can travel on my Annual Multi Trip policy?

You can travel as often as you like, to as many countries as you wish depending on the area you have selected. There is, however, a maximum duration for each trip you take which is 22 days for the Standard level of cover, 32 days for the Extra level of cover and 32 days for the Super level of cover.

For an additional premium you can extend your maximum trip duration to 45 or 60 days depending on your age. Check our policy wording for further information.

2. What’s the maximum duration on a Single Trip policy?

The maximum duration available on an InsuraTrip Single Trip policy is 90 days for ages 54 and under, 60 days for ages 55-59 and 45 days for ages 60-69. Check your policy certificate and policy wording for further information.

3. Do you have to be a UK resident to purchase Travel Insurance from InsuraTrip?

To purchase an InsuraTrip product you must be a resident of the United Kingdom or Channel Islands. Please note that upper age limits do apply on all travel policies. These are as follows; 69 years of age for Single Trip Travel Insurance and 69 years of age for Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance.

Don't worry if you're not eligible for InsuraTrip's Standard, Extra, or Super Travel Insurance, as we may be able to offer you an alternative Travel Insurance policy from Voyager Insurance that is available for residents of the UK and some EEA countries (including those who have already travelled). For further details and to get an online quote for Voyager Travel Insurance, please click here.

4. What is the cancellation period?

You have a ‘cooling off’ period where, should you decide that you find that the terms and conditions do not meet your requirements and provided you have not travelled or claimed on the policy, you can advise InsuraTrip within 14 days of purchase for a full refund to be considered.

5. How do I get a copy of my policy documents?

When you purchase Travel Insurance from InsuraTrip, we send you a confirmation email with your policy documents attached. We recommend printing off a copy of this email, and strongly recommend taking a copy on your travels with you.

That said, if you do misplace your policy and would like a copy, please contact us by phone on 01483 806 909 or email us at info@insuratrip.com.

6. What is a policy excess?

Excess is the first part of any claim that you are liable to pay for, in the event of you making a claim. You can find the policy excess for your respective level of cover in the policy wording.

7. Do I need to take my policy documents with me when I travel?

We highly recommend that you take a copy of all of your insurance documents on your travels with you, so that you are aware of your cover limits, should you need to make a claim or find yourself needing the emergency assistance service. We also recommend that you put our emergency numbers into your mobile phone.

8. Is it possible to buy a travel policy the same day as departure?

Yes, it is possible to do so up until the point you leave your home to commence your trip. However, we would not recommend this, as you would not have any Cancellation Cover in place should you have to cancel your trip, for an insured reason, before travel commences.

If you have already left your home, you can get an Already Departed Travel Insurance policy from our sister brand, Voyager Travel Insurance. Please visit Voyager Travel Insurance to find out more.

9. Do I need to let you know every time I plan to travel if I have an Annual Multi-Trip Policy?

No, you do not need to inform us of every trip you take, however, you do need to update us if any of your circumstances change – such as any medical conditions.

10. What cover is available under my policy in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

InsuraTrip has a number of elements of cover that relate to Coronavirus (COVID-19). Our policies will ONLY provide cover for claims directly or indirectly related to a pandemic and/or epidemic, including but not limited to Coronavirus (Covid–19) within the following sections:

A & B – Trip Cancellation and Interruption

– If you or a travelling companion becomes ill due to COVID-19 and it is disabling enough that a doctor advises you to cancel your trip.

– A family member becomes ill with COVID-19 and it is considered life threatening by a doctor or requires hospitalisation.

– You or a travelling companion are quarantined before your trip after contracting COVID-19 as long as the quarantine order is specific to you and your travelling companion, not a broadly applied stay at home restriction.

C - Travel Delay

– You or a travelling companion are quarantined before your trip after contracting COVID-19 as long as the quarantine order is specific to you and your travelling companion, not a broadly applied stay at home restriction.

– A travel carrier denies you or a travelling companion boarding based on suspicion one of you has a contagious medical condition such as COVID-19.

F - Emergency Medical Expenses

– While on your trip abroad, you have a sudden, unexpected illness, injury or medical condition that could cause serious harm if it is not treated before your return home (including being diagnosed with an epidemic or pandemic disease such as COVID-19).

G - Emergency Transport

- If you become seriously ill or injured or develop a medical condition (including being diagnosed with an epidemic or pandemic disease such as COVID-19) while on your trip, we will pay for local emergency transportation from the location of the initial incident to a local doctor or local medical facility.

There is no cover under ALL other sections of standard cover for any claims directly or indirectly related to a pandemic and/or epidemic including but not limited to Coronavirus (Covid–19).

For information on whether Coronavirus cover is included on any policy options please see our Policy Options pages.

For full details, please see your policy wording.

11. Can I travel to any country with InsuraTrip Travel Insurance?

The countries you can travel to on your InsuraTrip policy will depend up on the destination area you select when you purchase your policy. Our policies will NOT provide cover under any section of the policy if you travel to a country or specific area, where prior to travel, the FCDO are advising against ‘all travel’ or ‘all but essential travel’.

To see the list of areas you can travel to on an InsuraTrip policy please click here and view our 'Know Your Areas' page.

However, if you are planning to travel to a country or specific area, where the FCDO are advising against ‘all travel’ or ‘all but essential travel’, you can visit our sister brand, High Risk Voyager, which is specifically designed to offer coverage for individuals travelling to a high-risk territorial zones and areas.
