1. What’s the limit on the amount of times I can travel on my Annual Multi Trip policy?
You can travel as often as you like, to as many countries as you wish depending on the area you have selected. There is, however, a maximum duration for each trip you take which is 22 days for the Standard level of cover, 32 days for the Extra level of cover and 32 days for the Super level of cover.
2. What’s the maximum duration on a Single Trip policy?
The maximum duration available on an InsuraTrip Single Trip policy is 90 days for ages 18-54, 60 days for ages 55-59 and 45 days for ages 60-69. Check your policy certificate and policy wording for further information.
3. Do you have to be a UK resident to purchase travel insurance from InsuraTrip?
To purchase an InsuraTrip product you must be a resident of the United Kingdom or Channel Islands. Please note that upper age limits do apply on all travel policies. These are as follows; 69 years of age for Single Trip Travel Insurance and 69 years of age for Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance.
Don't worry if you're not eligible for InsuraTrip's Standard, Extra, Super or Premier travel insurance, as we may be able to offer you an alternative travel insurance policy from Voyager Insurance that is available for residents of the UK and some EEA countries (including those who have already travelled). 4. What is the cancellation period?
You have a ‘cooling off’ period where, should you decide that you find that the terms and conditions do not meet your requirements and provided you have not travelled or claimed on the policy, you can advise InsuraTrip within 14 days of purchase for a full refund to be considered.
5. How do I get a copy of my policy documents?
When you purchase travel insurance from InsuraTrip, we send you a confirmation email with your policy documents attached. We recommend printing off a couple of copies of this email, and strongly recommend taking a copy on your travels with you.
That said, if you do misplace your policy and would like a copy, please contact us by phone on 01483 806 909 or email us at info@insuratrip.com.
Excess is the first part of any claim that you are liable to pay for, in the event of you making a claim. This can be found in the policy wording of the policy excess for the respective level of cover.
7. Do I need to take my policy documents with me when I travel?
We highly recommend that you take a copy of all of your insurance documents on your travels with you, so that you are aware of your cover limits, should you need to make a claim or find yourself needing the emergency assistance service. We also recommend that you put our emergency numbers into your mobile phone.
8. Is it possible to buy a travel policy the same day as departure?
Yes, it is possible to do so up until the point you leave your home to commence your trip. However, we would not recommend this, as you would not have any Cancellation Cover in place should you have to cancel your trip, for an insured reason, before travel commences.
9. Do I need to inform you of my holidays once booked, with an Annual Multi Trip policy?
No, but you do need to update us if any of your circumstances such as medical conditions change.
10. What cover is available under my policy in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19)?
InsuraTrip has a number of elements of cover that relate to Coronavirus (COVID-19). Our policies will ONLY provide cover for claims directly or indirectly related to a pandemic and/or epidemic, including but not limited to Coronavirus (Covid–19) within the following sections:
A – Cancellation – If you are unable to go on your trip if you test positive for COVID within 14 days of departure.
B1 – Emergency Medical Expenses – If you need emergency medical attention and are admitted to hospital.
B1 – Additional Accommodation & Travel Expenses – If you contract COVID and need to self-isolate and are unable to travel to your home country. Additionally, we can also provide cover for a parent or carer to stay with you.
C – Cutting your Trip short – If you are tested positive for COVID.
Please be aware that the coverage provided under the above sections, only applies if:
- You or anyone insured on this policy, became ill with an infectious disease (including contracting Covid-19); (you must have had a positive test result within 14 days of your intended departure date)
There is no cover under ALL other sections of cover for any claims directly or indirectly related to a pandemic and/or epidemic including but not limited to Coronavirus (Covid–19).
For full details, please see your policy wording.
11. Can I travel to any countries with InsuraTrip Travel Insurance?
The countries you can travel to on your InsuraTrip policy will depend up on the destination area you select when you purchase your policy. It is essential that you also check the latest advice outlined by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) at www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice before departure. Our policies will NOT provide cover under any section of the policy if you travel to a country or specific area, where prior to travel, the FCDO are advising against ‘all travel’ or ‘all but essential travel’.
However, if you are need to travel to a country or specific area, where FCDO are advising against ‘all travel’ or ‘all but essential travel’. You can visit our sister brand, High Risk Voyager, as it can offer coverage for individuals travelling to a high-risk territorial zone and area. Please visit High Risk Voyager to find out more.
12. Can I still buy Travel insurance cover if I have already left home?
