What is Family Travel Insurance?

Our InsuraTrip Family Holiday Insurance includes cover for 2 adults (or 1 adult for a single-parent family) and their dependents aged 17 years of age or under. With an InsuraTrip policy a “dependent” is considered as your children, step-children, foster children and adopted children or children currently in the adoption process.

However, are you wondering does family travel insurance covers individuals to travel alone? The short answer to this question is a yes, on an InsuraTrip Super Annual Multi-Trip policy.

With an InsuraTrip Super Annual Multi-Trip policy, adult family members named on the policy can travel on their own. However, for children who want to travel independently and still want to have cover under our InsuraTrip policy, the following requirements must be met:

• accompanied by at least one adult aged 18 or over
• have the full knowledge and consent of the insured parent or guardian

Know Your InsuraTrip Travel Insurance Areas!

When buying your family travel insurance, it's important that you select the correct area to ensure your policy has the correct cover in place. For example, with an InsuraTrip policy, if you are travelling to France, you will select “Europe 1”, but if your holiday is in Greece, instead you will need to select “Europe 2”.

• Section F – Emergency Medical Cover/Dental Cover Abroad

Check You Have the Cover you Need

Our Family Holiday Insurance policy can cover over 100 exciting sports and activities as standard. For more information on which activities you are covered as standard under our InsuraTrip Family Travel Insurance policy, visit our Sports & Activities List page.

If you are considering doing sports activities on your holiday, you will need to add the correct Activity Packs to your policy. For example, if you are planning to skiing or snowboarding, you will need to add Activity Pack 5 to your policy.

Alternatively, if your holiday plans include swimming with dolphins, this activity will be covered under Activity Pack 1. However, to have cover related to this activity, in case you miss it for an insured reason, you will need to add our Sports Cover Option to your family travel insurance policy.
