5 of the best UK Christmas Markets

 

 

(1) York

Voted the UK’s most festive City in 2017, where else would you rather go for a long Christmas-filled break?!

The annual St Nicholas fair is host to hundreds of festive stalls filled with Yorkshire produce which is showcased at the Yuletide village. Don’t forget to stop by St Sampson’s Square rustic barn to sample festive treats such as hot chestnuts and cups of warming and spicy mulled wine. Yum!

The York Christmas Market runs from 14th November right up until 22nd December 2019.

 

(2) London Bridge Christmas Market

Christmas by the river at London Bridge is a not-so-hidden treasure that many visitors forget about when planning their Christmas market trip to Hyde Park for Winter Wonderland.

Christmas by the river offers a combination of homemade gifts, delicious food and beverages; from German-style sausages to roasted chestnuts and warm, mulled wine and ciders, and plenty of stocking fillers for even that most difficult friend!

Start or complete your day trip to London with a visit to the riverside Christmas Market.

The market runs from November 2019 to January 2020. Exact dates yet to be released.

 

(3) Manchester

Attracting shoppers locally, nationally and even internationally, the Manchester Christmas Market has put Manchester City Centre on the Christmas Map!

There are approximately 10 different Christmas markets located around the city of Manchester but the most favourable is the larger market held in Albert Square.

Soak up the atmosphere, the smells and head on a trail to investigate the mouth-watering food, drinks and yuletide gifts across almost 350 stalls.

If you’re struggling to get in the Christmas spirit, you will be full of Christmas joy and cheer after this trip!

The Manchester Christmas market is open from November 9th until 22nd December 2019.

 

(4) Birmingham

Birimgham’s Frankfurt Christmas market is the largest authentic German market outside of Germany or Austria. So, it’s the perfect spot to head to if you can’t reach the real thing overseas!

The Market offers a wide variety of traditional food, drink and gifts and with over 80 stores, there’s something for all ages.

And new for 2019, the market is open for a whole week longer; giving visitors more time to take that trip to Birmingham!

The Birmingham Christmas market runs from November 7th -23rd December 2019.

 

(5) Bath

Head to the historical city of Bath this Christmas and combine your love of Christmas with historical architecture.

The award-winning Bath Christmas market is a hit every year with locals and visitors alike. There’s over 150 twinkling chalets to work your way around all selling locally made and hand crafted items.

The Bath Christmas market has a romantic atmosphere so it’s the perfect weekend break to head on if you want some quiet time with your significant other!

Bath Christmas market runs from 28th November – 22nd December 2019.
